Woman jumps off North Richmond bridge
Â
Passing motorists acted quickly around 1.30pm yesterday at North Richmond as a 42-year-old woman clambered over the railings and threw herself off the bridge and into the water below.
Â
When police arrived, after multiple calls from concerned members of the public, passing drivers and passengers had managed to scramble down to the riverbank where the North Richmond woman made it to the side and was pulled from the water. She was restrained by her rescuers as well as by police when they quickly arrived on the scene.
Â
The woman was taken to Nepean Hospital by ambulance for a mental health assessment.
