Wed COVID update - 8 new cases, none in Hawkesbury - restrictions slightly tweaked...
Premier speaking says there were 42,000 tests yesterday, just short of the record 44,000 the day before. Eight new cases, none of them in the Hawkesbury - all Northern Beaches.
Restrictions stay in place for Hawkesbury of max of 10 people per home allowed to gather, but children under 12 are now not counted in that number - which is good news for families over Christmas. But, the 10 visitor rule (where children count towards the 10) will start again on December 27 – it has not been lifted.
For the southern part of the northern beaches, “people who might live in Manly or Dee Why”, says the Premier, can have 10 visitors from 24-26 December.
People from Greater Sydney - so including the Hawkesbury - can go to the Northern Beaches, but NB people cannot leave their area.
“You can have other people come in from the region or other parts of Greater Sydney. But you can’t leave. We don’t want people from the Northern Beaches mingling in other parts of Sydney at this stage but you can welcome people in,” says the Premier.
