School holiday fun at Hawkesbury Library and Gallery

Hawkesbury Library Service and Hawkesbury Regional Gallery are presenting a range of fun programs to keep the kids entertained during the Summer School Holidays. Here’s the list…

 

HAWKESBURY LIBRARY SERVICE

Library workshops will be held at Hawkesbury Central Library, Ground Floor, Deerubbin Centre, 300 George Street. Bookings are essential via Eventbrite www.hawkesburylibrary.eventbrite.com or call 4560 4460.

 

All activities are for school aged children (children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult). COVID-Safe requirements will be in place and there will be limits on attendee numbers. Bookings essential and some events will have a small charge.

 

MOVIE TIME

Thursday 7, 14, and 21 January 2pm-3.30pm

New release DVDs will be showing. Check Eventbrite for the titles closer to screening dates.

 

TIME CAPSULE

Friday 8 January 10am-midday

Create a container that can store your memories from 2020. Store it away and open in years to come. For 5 years+.

 

SCRAPBOOK MEMORIES BOX

Tuesday 12 January 10am-midday

Learn how to make this box that can be filled with photos and memories. For 8 years+.

 

MEMORY GAMES

Monday 18 January 10am-midday

Challenge your friends and family with these fun quizzes and puzzles that will test your total recall. For 5 years+.

 

MAKING STORIES – A CREATIVE WRITING ADVENTURE WITH SIMON FRENCH

Wednesday 20 January 2pm-3.30pm

Simon French has been writing since he was in high school. Now that he’s all grown up, he still loves to tell stories and share the skills he has developed over a lifetime. Characters, plots, gripping complications and more — he’ll share it all in this workshop presented in partnership with WestWords. For 10 years+.

 

HAWKESBURY REGIONAL GALLERY

Gallery workshops will be held at Hawkesbury Regional Gallery, 1st floor, Deerubbin Centre, 300 George Street, Windsor. Bookings are essential via Eventbrite http://hawkesburygallery.eventbrite.com or call (02) 4560 4441. Gallery activities are $20 each with all materials supplied.

 

SHRINKIES

Wednesday 13 January 10am-midday

Make your own adorable food themed characters before shrinking them down in size.

 

FOOD ART COLLAGE

Thursday 14 January 10am-midday

Create a collage of all things yummy in this hands-on workshop.

 

MELTED ICE-CREAM PAINTING

Friday 15 January 10am-midday

Learn new techniques in order to paint your own drippy-melty masterpiece.

 

DAWN TAN INSPIRED FUNKY FOOD ART

Wednesday 20 January 10am-midday

Feast your eyes and bellies on these delicious artworks. Learn to use Inktense pencils to create food artworks inspired by artist, Dawn Tan.

 

FELT SUSHI

Thursday 21 January 10am-midday

Roll, fold, glue and cut colourful felt to create a tray full of delicious looking sushi.

 

PLASTER FAKE FOOD

Friday 22 January 10am-midday

Learn plaster moulding and painting techniques to create your very own realistic 3D plaster food models.

Our artist tutor will guide you in painting your own bright bowl of fruit. Learn a range of painting techniques while creating your still life masterpiece.
