SAT COVID UPDATE - 14 NEW HAWKESBURY CASES -1599 NEW NSW CASES



There have been 1599 new NSW cases of COVID recorded in the last 24 hours, according to the latest figures released this morning.


In the Hawkesbury we have seen an increase in the last 24-hours of 14 new cases, all of which are from unknown sources, bringing the total of COVID active cases in our local government area to at least 218.


Richmond's Hawkesbury Living aged care home on March St has now had a total of 31 resident cases, including 1 confirmed COVID resident death and 1 death in a COVID positive resident where COVID was not the cause of death, and 11 active staff cases of COVID, according to the latest Federal Government aged care report released yesterday - Friday. Relatives have been told by the home that there have not been any new cases for the last 3 days.


We were also told yesterday, that there are now 2 people with COVID at RAAF Richmond. We're waiting for confirmation from the Department of Defence.


94 of the new cases 94 are from the Nepean Blue Mountains local health district which includes the Hawkesbury.


Across NSW, 44.5% of adults are now fully vaccinated, with 77.3% currently vaccinated with the first dose, with some 8m jabs given so far.


There are 1164 people in hospital, 221 are in ICU and 94 of those are on ventilators.


There have been 8 deaths in the last 24 hours - 6 men, 2 women. Three in their 80s, 2 in their 70s, 1 in their 50s, 1 in their 40s and 1 in their 30s. All had underlying health conditions.


170 Covid deaths since middle of June. 226 since start of pandemic.


To 8pm last night 147, 975 tests.


A man in his 70s from western Sydney died at Blacktown Hospital.

A man in his 30s from western Sydney died at home.

A man in his 40s from south-western Sydney died at home.

A man in his 70s from western Sydney died at Royal North Shore Hospital.

A woman in her 80s from Sydney’s southern suburbs died at Sutherland Hospital.

A man in his 80s from south-western Sydney died at Liverpool Hospital.

A woman in her 80s from south western Sydney died at Campbelltown Hospital.

A man in his 50s from western Sydney died at Royal North Shore Hospital.
