Red Mercedes collides with parked ute in Richmond incident on Sunday – fuel tanks ruptured

May 10, 2021

A red Mercedes-Benz sports coupe collided with a parked ute in Paget Street on Sunday afternoon, rupturing the fuel tanks of both vehicles.

The incident happened at 2.30pm when the Mercedes hit the ute in its side and pushed it partly off the road and into a tree.

Richmond Fire and Rescue teams were on the scene quickly, laying down absorbent material to stop the fuel leaks and make sure no fuel caught alight.

The driver and a passenger in the Mercedes were both uninjured.

NSW Ambulance crews and Hawkesbury Police also attended the incident.
