Police car rammed outside the Australian Hotel
The incident unfolded after officers from Quakers Hill Police Area Command went to a home in Riverstone at 7.15am Thursday following reports of a concern for a man’s welfare. Police found the 30-year-old man, however, it’s alleged he then fled in a Subaru Forester. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, and it’s alleged it failed to stop and a police pursuit began, but was terminated shortly after due to safety concerns. The vehicle was later seen in Hawkesbury Police Area Command, where it’s alleged the driver rammed a police car on Pitt Town Road. The female officer was taken to hospital as a precaution.
A Hawkesbury Post reporter was on the scene minutes after the incident and saw the unmarked police car’s front end completely stoved in. Shortly afterwards, the Subaru crashed into a power pole on Broos Road, Oakville. The man was arrested and taken to Blacktown Hospital for assessment. Investigations are continuing.
