Paint, sip and laugh - Snablats Social Club releases the inner Picasso
Macdonald Valley’s Snablats Social Club held a very colourful event this last week when 22 members gathered at a refurbished local barn for an evening of painting and laughs, and the occasional drink too.
Snablats was formed to help Valley folks reconnect after the first bout of Covid hovered over the region. Since then Snablats has gone from strength to strength and now has over 80 members.
Organiser Nicola Ivy descried Thursday’s event as a “BYO wine and painting with plenty room for your inner-Picasso to run wild” experience.
She said by the end of the night even those who considered themselves ‘non-creatives’ would be taking home their very own Picasso = and indeed they were.
Picture perfect - a good night was had by all at the Snablats Social Club painting evening
Club members were given a choice of three images to recreate and were each supplied with a 30 x 40 blank canvas, acrylic paints, brushes, and glassware for beverages.
“It was the perfect way to catch up with friends and community, with plenty of time for sipping wine and chatting while they painted,” said Nicole.
“It was huge success and was an extremely funny and entertaining night. It was really nice to see everyone smiling and we are already planning the next one,” said Nicole.
