Man charged at Windsor with ‘armed with intent’ after police operation at South Maroota
A 50-year-old man will face court today – Friday – charged with armed with intent following a police operation yesterday which involved a man allegedly being threatened with a firearm.
Just before 6.30pm yesterday- Thursday – police were called to a property on Days Road at South Maroota, after reports a man had threatened the occupant with a firearm and fled into nearby bushland.
Officers from The Hills Police Area Command responded, along with PolAir and other specialist resources.
The 48-year-old male occupant was located uninjured.
Following negotiations, a 50-year-old man presented himself to police. He was arrested and taken to Windsor Police Station.
A crime scene was established at the property and during a search, officers recovered three firearms and found a hydroponic cannabis setup. The items have been seized for forensic examination.
The man has since been charged with armed with intent commit indictable offence, cultivate prohibited plant, not keep firearm safely- not pistol/prohibited firearm, and stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm (domestic.)
He has been refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court today – Friday.
