COVID UPDATE – SAT – 163 NEW NSW CASES - 45 INFECTIOUS IN COMMUNITY - HAWKESBURY STEADY AT 6 CASES
"We have a continuing and growing problem," said NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard this morning from 11am, as COVID numbers continued to climb.
The minister said "we see transmission particularly as a result of family members getting together."
Vineyard and Riverstone were mentioned at the briefing this morning by NSW Health’s Dr Jeremy McAnulty as among the many suburbs of some concern.
No Hawkesbury suburbs were mentioned.
Hawkesbury cases are still steady this morning at 6 known cases but as many of you will know, a South Windsor venue was listed as a venue of concern late last night after someone with COVID had been there, so we'll see if there is any movement on those figures today.
Worryingly, the times and dates for the South Windsor location are over last weekend and it was only announced last night.
There were 93,900 COVID tests across NSW to 8pm last night, which is a record.
Latest Hawkesbury total test figure just reported is 13,681, up from 13,404 on Friday, and so far no more reported cases of COVID in the Hawkesbury.
