COVID update – Blue Mountains Covid case
Not in the Hawkesbury, but again close enough to warrant a mention, especially if you've recently been to Katoomba.
NSW Health has just confirmed that anyone who visited Greenwell and Thomas pharmacy at 145 Katoomba St any time between Saturday December 26 and Sunday December 27 must get tested immediately and isolate until a negative result is received.
We understand an employee at the chemist’s tested positive for Covid.
Here's a bit more info from Trish Doyle, the Blue Mountains state MP.
"I have just spoken with both the NSW Health Minister and with the CEO Nepean Blue Mountains Health District.
"A locum, who we are told is not a resident, worked on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 December and tested positive on Tuesday. His case is related to the Croydon Cluster. We understand he did not work at the front counter.
"Four staff who were in close contact have been tested. Two have come back negative. The other two are waiting. The person is not, at this point, known to have been in any other locations in the Blue Mountains."
The chemist themselves have assured customers the premises have been deep cleaned to NSW Health requirements and they are now open again from today (Wednesday).
