Dec 5, 2020

Window of outreach van smashed, McMahons Park

It was a busy night shift for Hawkesbury police last night with some serious damage to McMahons park’s community outreach services centre in Kurrajong following a break-in at midnight when the alarm went off.

Several windows were broken, a fire hydrant was thrown through the community bus window and its contents sprayed throughout the centre. There is also a great deal of damage to the before and after school area and kitchen.

Two young persons have been charged with several offences by the Command’s Proactive Crime Team, following the aggravated break and enter and malicious damage of the centre. Both young persons will be conditionally bailed to appear at the Parramatta Childrens Court.

Volunteers will be working over the weekend to try and make the centre usable for before and after schoolchildren who would normally be there on Monday.

In St Albans, a 53-year-old St Albans man was charged with several offences including assault following an incident in the village. He was conditionally bailed to appear at Windsor Court.

Vehicle off road at Comleroy Road – air ambulance was called, but no serious injuries

Police and Emergency Services including the Toll Air Ambulance responded to a motor vehicle collision on Comleroy Rd, Kurrajong about 1km west of Boongari Trail. The ute was eventually located off the road, on its driver’s side about five metres down an embankment.

Police, Ambulance and SES operatives worked to stretcher the 22-year-old female passenger back to the road for assessment and treatment whilst the 22-year-old male driver was able to remove himself from the vehicle.

The passenger had not received serious injuries but was taken by ambulance to Westmead Hospital for assessment and treatment. Inquiries are continuing into this incident.

Meanwhile, a 29-year-old male has been charged and bail refused following a domestic related assault upon his father at Kurrajong Heights. He will appear before the bail Court this morning.
