6am POWER UPDATE – 98 homes in East Kurrajong to be reconnected today

Work began at first light this morning to restore power to the remaining 5700 customers affected by yesterday’s damaging winds, including 98 in East Kurrajong, the only Hawkesbury area still affected, according to Endeavour Energy.

“Fresh crews from across Endeavour Energy’s network will focus their efforts today on safely restoring power to the remaining customers as quickly as possible,” said a spokesman this morning.

More than 100,000 homes and businesses lost power throughout yesterday as trees and branches were blown over powerlines causing 540 electrical hazards. At the peak of the incident, 57,000 customers were without power.

“If there is no further damage, we are confident that all customers will have their power back this afternoon.”
