10.45am POWER UPDATE – Lower Portland, St Albans power due back on midday, Upper Colo late afternoon

Nov 30, 2020

We’ve just been talking to our contacts at Endeavour Energy who have checked their live situation report for us, and for you too.

Work began at first light this morning to restore power to the remaining 5700 customers affected by yesterday’s damaging winds, including 98 in East Kurrajong.

There are still 182 properties in Lower Portland and 142 in St Albans, 83 in Cumberland Reach, plus most properties at Upper Colo, still without power.

A crew should be on scene now at St Albans where a single downed tree has caused the power cut. Once that tree is removed and the cable restored, the power should be back on – latest by midday if there are no further issues.

Endeavour don’t have any reports of other power supply issues in the Hawkesbury, currently.

“Fresh crews from across Endeavour Energy’s network will focus their efforts today on safely restoring power to the remaining customers as quickly as possible,” said a spokesman this morning.

More than 100,000 homes and businesses lost power throughout yesterday as trees and branches were blown over powerlines causing 540 electrical hazards. At the peak of the incident, 57,000 customers were without power.

“If there is no further damage, we are confident that all customers will have their power back this afternoon.”
